Welcome to your equine photo session guide

We are looking forward to meeting you and here is a guide with some tips, ideas and other information to help you get the most out of your photoshoot experience

Before Your Session

Get a good nights sleep, so you are nice and rested.

Make sure your horse is well groomed. We recommend a simple head collar for the shoot but if you have particular tack that you would like to include in the shoot, please feel free to bring that with you.

Any tack should be cleaned too.

You are welcome to join in the shoot. If you do, choose clothes that you are comfortable in with fairly neutral colours (Best to leave that Hawaiian shirt for the holidays!)

If your horse needs clipping, try to arrange for this to be done a few days before the shoot, rather than the day before.

If you have an idea of what you would like from the shoot, do let us know.

Please feel free to ask us anything before, during or after the shoot. We are here to help.

What To Bring

  • Any tack that you need

  • Any grooming kit that you need

  • Any treats that may be useful. We usually bring along some carrots

  • Any personal items if you would like to include them

  • A comfortable outfit of your choice if you would like to be included in the pictures

  • If you are bringing more than one horse, it helps to bring along another person

  • Don't forget to bring your horse!

Your Session

During your session we will give you all the direction that you need to get your images. Our photoshoots are very relaxed and fun for everyone. There is no need to worry or rush. If you are joining in the shoot, my posing style is very natural and not ‘formal’..

We give your horse plenty of time to get used to the studio. This is not something you do every day and we appreciate that. Each part is taken step by step and at a pace that you and your horse are happy with.

What Happens Next

After your session, we will select a range of images. These are then prepared for viewing. This process takes around four to six weeks. Once they are all ready we will arrange to meet up with you for a personal viewing session.

When you have chosen your images, these will be then prepared for printing. This process can take a few weeks as the pictures are scrutinised in fine detail to ensure they are perfect for printing. In addition to this, there is a test print process to ensure printing is as expected. At this stage, your final pieces are ordered and checked by us when they are delivered.

Investing in Our Customers - Our Commitment to Excellence

Every set of images we present begins with a bespoke photoshoot but our commitment to you has started before we even turn up. We have already heavily invested in the best fine art portrait cameras and lighting equipment specifically sourced for equine and canine imagery. In the hands of Deanne, we add an experienced and multi award winning photographer with a technical and creative flair who hosts a calm, friendly shoot that allows her subjects to shine.

After the session, your images are individually edited for presentation. Colour is balanced, blemishes are addressed, and backgrounds are enhanced along with many tiny improvements. Once you have selected the pictures you would like printed we test print and begin the edit for print process. This ensures your pictures look perfect whether you have chosen wall art or an album. Every image is worked on at the fine detail level until we are happy that it meets our exacting standards.

We strongly believe that our portraits of your animals deserve to be displayed on the best frames, albums, and print folios available. Our print partners offer a real mix of craft and machinery. They employ skilled hands, sophisticated in-house software and specialist equipment. Absolutely nothing is left to chance. Crystal clear printing on legacy photography papers and anti-glare art glass are standard and all our finishes are designed to give you a long-lasting museum grade heirloom.

We love to deliver your finished image personally, and hope it brings you as much pleasure as it gave us creating it.
